Shopping for Charity

If you are like me and are 95years old in terms of keeping up with technology, this entry is for you.

Recently I decided to enter the twenty-first century and started partaking in online shopping.  I understand the appeal of not having to spend time and effort entering stores searching for specific items.  Its a fantastic way to grab necessities without using gas, waiting in lines, hitting traffic, or dealing with gross stores.  Its also wonderful because it allows for you to use that time that otherwise would be spent on the store experience for more important life activities- like spending time with loved ones, doing things you are passionate about, and maybe even just having a chance to reflect on how wonderful life is.
This past week I caught up even further with modern technology.
Amazon Smile.
If you go online for your shopping, I urge you to use Smile.Amazon.com.  Its the same thing as Amazon from a customer experience, the only difference (which is a big one) is that for every purchase you make, Amazon will donate .5% of your spend towards the charity of your choosing. It may not be much, but my mentality has always been that every penny helps...and the more people that you encourage to use the experience, the more we can impact these charities in a meaningful way.
You pay nothing extra. You do nothing different. You just shop.  But you are increasing, though slightly, the revenue generated for a charity close to your heart.
So next time you need some toilet paper, supplies for a birthday party, a new book, a toy for your nephew...I hope you start using AmazonSmile...and that you spread the word. Let's communally shop this world into a better place.
